Sónia Alves has recently been appointed a member of the international working group “Resilient Metropolitan Regions – Spatial Planning and Management for Urban Transformation” for the next three years. This is a forum that aims to contribute to theoretical and practical comparative research on policy, and specifically planning policy.
The DASH project is built upon a series of ongoing national and international research collaborations that will enable its members to participate in theoretical and empirical debates, and to disseminate applied knowledge that can make a difference to municipalities, communities, and society at large.
Sónia Alves’ participation in the international working group “Resilient Metropolitan Regions – Spatial Planning and Management for Urban Transformation” will enable the development of new collaborations in new geographical and thematic areas, as well as new sectors, creating opportunities for cross-sectoral involvement that are essential to people’s ability to pursue activities both within and outside academia. We believe that participation in this group will considerably open up the project’s scope, producing novel understandings of problems and innovative solutions to them.
